As freedom and individuality are crushed throughout the Middle East under the weight of Sharia law, Barack Obama opts to bow and grovel at the feet of Islamic dictators with whom he seeks to “build bridges.” Comity with such people is paramount. In contrast, human rights abuses among the common people of those regions are inconsequential. Or worse, as was the case in Iran after thug leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad secured his electoral victory through highly dubious means, the concerns and complaints of the people become a distraction and hindrance to Obama’s fawning diplomatic overtures, at which point he turns a blind eye to the mass state oppression of their dissenting voices.

On this side of the Atlantic, things are rapidly deteriorating towards the same dismal condition. And it is becoming increasingly apparent that the Administration has no interest in upholding or protecting the basic rights previously enjoyed by Americans, as evidenced by Attorney General Eric Holder’s willingness to allow voter intimidation by New Black Panther members in Philadelphia to go unpunished, despite incontrovertible evidence of their criminal actions. The definition of “crimes” and any resulting government involvement in pursuing them as such will henceforth be determined by their potential for gaining liberal political advantage and not by some simplistic and blind devotion to justice.

As an inevitable result, Americans increasingly find themselves subjected to third-world style injustice, including false accusations of wrongdoing based not on the written law, but on the twisted premises of “political correctness,” which will ultimately overshadow any effort to restore fairness and integrity to the legal system. The latest effort by the Obama White House to humiliate and impugn the good people of Arizona, this time on the world stage, cannot be interpreted in any other manner.

Were the United Nations merely feckless and inept, the monstrous sums of money bestowed to it by the United States government would still be indefensible. Yet over the years it has degenerated into something far worse than a mere roundtable of babbling “diplomats.” Corruption and hypocrisy run rampant in its midst, with emissaries from brutal and corrupt dictatorships often chiding the civilized world, and the United States in particular, over supposed infractions of imaginary standards of decency in dealing with the human condition.

The arrangement was abhorrent in the past, as U.S. presidents attempted to deflect such criticism while maintaining what they vainly believed was the proper degree of American support and presence in the organization. But with the advent of the Obama Administration, the situation has grown far worse. Now, instead of defending the United States against this gaggle of leftist and their third-world nattering, Barack Obama invokes their disdain as a means of debasing this nation, thus validating their accusations and condemnation.

His latest betrayal of the nation came with the State Department’s submission of its “Report to the UN Council on Human Rights” on August 27. In this document, the Administration attempts to make the case that its opposition to Arizona’s Senate Bill 1070 constitutes an effort to restore human rights in the Grand Canyon State. Conversely, the effort by Arizona to stem the invasion of illegal aliens from Mexico must be presumed as an infringement and abuse of those rights.

Reality has long ago been driven far from the entire illegal immigration debate. Whereas throughout the rest of the world, flagrant and horrific abuses of human rights have occurred against oppressed citizens at the hands of their own imperious governments, which have often forcibly and violently prevented them from escaping from their control, the ostensible “victims” of the Arizona law are attempting to unlawfully enter and remain within the purview of this nation, facing at worst, the potential for eviction from its borders.

In Obama’s despicable world, America is no longer a nation with legal boundaries, put in place to preserve and protect its assets and its culture for the ultimate service of its own citizens. Instead, it is merely an accumulation of ill gotten material wealth, which should be rightly distributed amongst those who covet a portion of it. To deny anything to such people, on any basis is, in the thinking of Obama and his leftist minions, to violate their “rights.”

Nowhere in this discussion is any consideration given to the fact that each fragment of America being doled out to an illegal invader was first produced though the toil and industry of the people of the nation. Obama’s “compassion” and “generosity” amount to a pillaging of those resources from the people who forged and built the nation and now seek to pass its blessings on to their posterity.

Efforts by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer to protect the lives and property of the good people of her state are, in reality, no infringement whatsoever on the “human rights” of law abiding people. And in fact, they are the surest guarantee that all future legal citizens of Arizona, or any state in this nation, whether immigrant or natural born, will benefit from the opportunity to thrive and flourish in a safe and wholesome society, free of the encroaching dangers of a burgeoning subculture with neither a reverence for its heritage nor a concern for its future.

In contrast, Obama’s latest betrayal of Arizona and the United States is not the behavior of a sincere patriot who holds any serious regard for his oath of office. Rather it is the sordid conduct of a committed leftist and his political minions who maintain no allegiance to the nation or respect for its institutions and integrity, and who regularly demonstrate their intentions to undermine and ultimately eradicate it.

By now it has become grimly obvious that their despicable actions will continue unabated until “We the People” decide that we have had enough, and correct the mistake of ever having so cavalierly allowed such unworthy and malignant individuals access to the hallowed reins of power.

It is rare in any age that a single book can so comprehensively document and analyze a historical movement as to be capable of defining it. In the aftermath of World War II, which shattered western civilization to a degree unparalleled in history, it was William Shirer’s monumental “The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich” which cohesively linked the chain of events that led to the nightmare of Hitler’s Germany. Yet Shirer’s work came as a heartrending post-mortem of the European War, explaining to a yet unbelieving world how such an atrocity could have unfolded in its midst, among ostensibly “civilized” people.

During the Cold War, Alexandr Solzhenitsyn systematically unmasked the horrors of Soviet Russia, its oppression of the masses it claimed to be liberating, and its efforts at maintaining the facade of statist beneficence on the world stage. Through the publication of several works, including “One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich” and “The Gulag Archipelago,” Solzhenitsyn eventually was able to put out a distress call from those subjugated under the iron fist of the Soviet Union, thereby inflicting grave damage to its public relations ruse, from which it never recovered.

Recently, author Mark Levin substantively defined the stark crossroads at which America finds itself, with his powerful book “Liberty and Tyranny.” In this timely publication he contrasts the philosophies of freedom and individualism against the seductive allure of the “nanny state,” with its dangerous potential for descent into a dehumanizing abyss, lurking just beneath the veneer of bogus promises of a social paradise. Ultimately, Levin’s work offers both a clarion warning of the impending danger, and a path to escape if the people are sufficiently vigilant and resolved in their effort to maintain the freedoms with which they were endowed as Americans.

Now, to these greats must be added David Limbaugh’s “Crimes Against Liberty,” which was just released this week. Applying the principles of freedom and conservatism that he knows so well, David Limbaugh goes directly to the heart of the modern leftist movement as it makes its ultimate assault on America. More significantly, he firmly attaches a face to America’s newly ascendant “Evil Empire,” since its discussion rightly centers on the tactics and political agenda of Barack Obama.

In keeping with the standards of his previous best sellers, Mr. Limbaugh exhibits the thoroughness of a practiced attorney making an airtight case though the presentation of an abundance of information, accompanied by the prescient analysis that readers of his bi-weekly syndicated columns have come to expect and appreciate. From the very first page of its introduction, which stands in and of itself as an outstanding treatise on the precarious place where America currently finds itself, to the structure of the remainder of the work in which Mr. Limbaugh properly characterizes the criminal degradation of this nation by the Obama regime on several fronts, his writing is unparalleled in its comprehensiveness and depth.

Consider the progression of the three main segments of the book, “Offenses Against Americans,” “Offenses Against American Institutions,” and “Offenses Against America’s General Welfare and National Security.” Starting with the dubious manner in which Obama seized power, Mr. Limbaugh renders an indictment of the flamboyant but fraudulent tactics used to gloss over Obama’s glaring deficiencies, while touting his supposed virtues in almost satirically exaggerated terms. He then proceeds to explain how, from that position of ill-gotten power, Obama and his minions have embarked on a mission to remake America in their own sordid, leftist image. Finally, he offers a crushing conclusion of the grave damage America will predictably suffer if the Obama vision is not vigorously opposed.

Addressing a subject of this enormity is no trifling undertaking, if one intends to do it with credibility and substance. Yet on both counts David Limbaugh indisputably proves he is up to the task. From the opening sentence, in which he asserts that Obama’s tenure in the White House is “already the most destructive in history,” Mr. Limbaugh makes bold assertions as to the despicable nature of the Obama Administration, that even many of his conservative contemporaries lack the fortitude to publicly affirm.

On the heels of such contentions, he presents a wealth of concrete facts to prove his point. And in this department, he proves once again that his abilities of research and analysis are second to none. The prolific quotations and extensive footnoting in “Crimes Against Liberty” make it an invaluable collection of information quantifying the suspicions and distrust with which America regards the Obama White House.

But to a far greater degree, Mr. Limbaugh uses the evidence he has amassed to undergird his irrefutable conclusions, offered in thorough incisive commentary. For example, in his exposition of “Obama the Imperious,” he explains that “Obama’s furious attacks on Wall Street were a natural outgrowth of his anti-corporate ideology, but they were also a cynical ploy to whip up public support for his policies by stoking outrage at ‘fat-cat bankers’ and other evil capitalists who seemed to come straight out of a comic book.”

In a single sentence, he lays bare the myopic leftism of Barack Obama, his willingness to manipulate the emotionalism of his mindless supporters, and finally, the absurd and even juvenile basis on which the Obama regime seeks to demean and undermine any who dare to stand in opposition to its schemes. And each page of “Crimes Against Liberty” contains an abundance of just such hard hitting commentary, accompanied by all the necessary supporting evidence.

Sinister forces are hard at work, seeking to tear the America of freedom, prosperity and greatness away from “We the People.” And if their effort is successful, its horrific effects might never be undone. It is thus imperative that those who intend to preserve and protect their nation and its Constitution from these attacks be armed with a thorough understanding of the assault they face, and how to best counter it. In this regard, Americans can do no better than to gird themselves with the truth and insights of David Limbaugh’s “Crimes Against Liberty.”

Ever since the advent of the Obama Administration, and its systematic corruption and destruction of the nation’s constitutional framework, Americans have fervently anticipated their opportunity to atone for their past sins by way of the 2010 mid-term elections. That season is now upon us. As primary election races are concluded across the nation, and candidates head into the general election cycle, a drastic sea change can be expected in the conduct of political contests, as well as their coverage by the media.

For starters, calling Barack Obama “radioactive” might be a bit slanderous of those who construct dirty bombs. Seizing any opportunity to degrade and impugn America and its allies, while groveling and bowing to almost every tinhorn dictator he meets, Obama has thoroughly alienated all but the most ardent anti-American leftists. Those who have any belief in this country’s noble history, and hold out any hope for its future, must by now realize that Obama’s ultimate goal is to erode and undermine the nation, both internally and in its standing among the rest of the world.

While his plan has taken a huge toll on his former popularity among other heads of state, he has fared far worse among the American public. Twenty straight months of federal power grabs and congressional spending that dwarfs former deficits, underscored by an official contempt and disdain towards any who would demand accountability and responsibility, have left the American people convinced that their government in Washington has mutated into a horrific monster, the actions of which must be arrested immediately if the nation is to have even the smallest hope for its survival.

It is therefore to be fully expected that Democrat candidates will consistently sidestep any real discussion of the issues of concern to America. No politically savvy Democrat will want to recall all of those virtues of Obamacare that were trumpeted so relentlessly last spring. The bill is passed, and if everything goes according to (Democrat) plan, its innumerable edicts will be slyly and stealthily implemented over the upcoming years while an unwary public loses interest to a sufficient extent that nobody notices how drastically their once unrivaled quality of medical care has been perverted and degraded.

The last thing Democrats want to do during this election cycle is debate the supposed merits of socialism, weighed against its all-too-real historical pitfalls. While every socialist scheme throughout the world has been instituted on a foundation of lavish and utopian promises, the ugliness of its reality is never slow in manifesting itself. Promises of economic equality and “social justice” quickly devolve into near-universal poverty. Likewise, assurances of collective paradise undergirded with “free” and comprehensive healthcare just as quickly devolve into a nightmare of bureaucratic entanglements, out-of-control taxation, and drastic rationing measures which deprive citizens of basic medical needs in a futile effort to maintain “universal access” while struggling to rein in burgeoning costs.

Nor will Democrats be any more willing to confront the nation’s dire economic straits, despite the increasingly hollow and defensive claims that everything is “Bush’s fault.” Having enjoined the economic turmoil in 2008, they only exacerbated its downfall with massive government spending which, aside from padding the pockets of bloated bureaucracies at the national, state, and local levels, has done nothing to improve output or prosperity among average citizens.

On the cultural front, things may be even worse for the Democrats, if that is possible. The recent abomination of Barack Obama endorsing the construction of a Mosque at Ground Zero has not only outraged Americans on its own merits, it has also reminded them of the many occasions in which he clearly showed deference to anti-American and anti-Western cultures and philosophies, while demeaning the greatness of traditional America.

On this basis he castigates Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for erecting mere dwellings in Jerusalem, since doing so might “offend” those who hate Israel and the Jewish people. He countermands protocol towards America’s long standing allies by dispensing with any signs of respect towards their leaders, while bowing and toadying before despotic rulers who clearly harbor antipathy towards this nation.

So, with no real standing on the economy, international relations, or homeland security (all of which are inextricably linked), Democrats have no good options for a proactive political plan going into the November elections. They cannot run on either their past record or their real agenda if they are to have any hopes of avoiding the electoral drubbing that now seems inevitable.

Therefore, their very predictable strategy will be to avoid current policy and substantive issues at all costs, while attempting to incite and concoct “scandal,” based on any slight infraction by a Republican candidate, or to fabricate one from thin air if necessary, and center the entire remainder of the campaign on nothing more than that. Remember the “Macaca” hysterics that were used to torpedo the candidacy of George Allen, the Republican Senatorial hopeful from Virginia? Or the indictment of then House Majority Whip Tom Delay (R.-TX), which evaporated into thin air once he was drubbed out of office, and on which Nancy Pelosi (D.-CA) based her infamous “Republican culture of corruption” accusation?

Neither of these episodes held any merit, yet both were relentlessly invoked to discredit the GOP, ultimately empowering Pelosi to take over as the ultra-liberal Speaker of the House, along with Harry Reid (D.-NV) as Senate Majority Leader. In the absence of a liberal platform which they might be willing to openly and honestly discuss (doing so would deal a fatal blow to it), they can be expected to create, and then frantically focus on all sorts of Republican bogeymen and hobgoblins to once again frighten voters into their corner.

But it is going to be far more difficult this time around. In contrast to small-scale personal scandals among the Republicans, Democrats are entangled in corruption on an institutional scale. Even the flagrant graft by Representatives Maxine Waters (D.-CA) and Charlie Rangel (D.-NY) pale in comparison to the squandered billions of taxpayer dollars and total lack of accountability of the current Democrat controlled Congress, as well as their ravaging of the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law, on which no price tag could be applied.

In this volatile political environment, a concerted Republican effort to remain focused on the issues may well deal the much needed death blow to Democrat hopes of remaking America in their twisted image. We can only hope.
